When I was in School...

...our "high tech" classrooms consisted of...well, I can't really think of anything we had except a real blackboard with dusty chalk.  We didn't have televisions in our classrooms, no telephones, no computers or laptops, no handhelds.  We didn't have projectors, or Averkeys, no overhead projectors.  Oh, in high school I did take an office management class and we used typewriters...yes, the old fashioned, grab the handle and throw it back to the left so you could type the next row of words typewriter...they weren't even electric!!  But we made it...we survived without all the technology we have today.

I find it amazing what students have access to in class today; computers, laptops, iPad, iPods, Averkeys, document cameras, flatscreen TVs, telephones, cell phones, interactive whiteboards, Mobis, eBeams, and so, so much more.  It is a sight to see as you walk by a classroom and see students with their laptops looking up information of whatever the teacher is talking about and see the students in a variety of websites looking for this one piece of information!! Or they may be on an iPad, or using another piece of technology!

We've come along way over the past 40+ years...it will be interesting to see what new technology comes to us over the next 40 more!
